And, when you contribute, you'll open doors for yourself that simply do not exist in any other organization, anywhere. Position Overview – Manager of Transition Specialists: An integral member of the STAR Kids team, the manager of transition specialists is responsible for day-to-day supervision of the transition specialists within the health services department. The manager of transition specialists oversees and administers multiple clinical and social service functions. This individual provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance of transition specialists and other members of the service coordination team.
This will be on office based position out of our Sugar Land, TX location with 25% travel within the state of Texas.
Primary Responsibilities:

Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems within and outside own team
Develops, translates and executes strategies or functional/operational objectives for UnitedHealthcare including medical management, financial accountability, customer and provider satisfaction, and quality improvement in accordance with state guidelines
Directs and supports transition specialists to resolve highly complex or unusual member or staff concerns related to transition planning 
Works autonomously to identify issues, craft action plans and implement changes to positively impact business function and to lead, develop and coach a team
Promotes cross-functional teamwork and fact-based decision making
Tracks and trends data, identifying opportunities for improvement and communicating effectiveness
Identifies training opportunities and deficiencies and works closely with training team
Identifies operational efficiencies to enhance operations and standardize best practices across the organization
Confirms team compliance with all regulatory requirements

Requirements


Required Qualifications: 

Texas-licensed RN with current licensure required
Four or more years of clinical or community-based practice experience
One year supervisory/ management of staff 
Proficiency in software applications that include, but are not limited to, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
Demonstrated ability to assist with focusing activities toward a strategic direction as well as develop tactical plans, drive performance and achieve targets
Problem-solving skills and the ability to systematically analyze problems, draw relevant conclusions and devise appropriate courses of action
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Speaks clearly and concisely, conveys complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand and understands and interprets complex information from others
Ability to travel up to 25% in the state of Texas
Preferred Qualifications: 

BSN or Masters in Nursing
Pediatric experience
