Looking for a challenge? Roofing Technicians maintain the roof surfaces of buildings and complete specific work orders including but not limited to: masonry, tiles, pavers, and wood work.


Roofing Technicians at Universal Orlando are responsible for:


  • Gathering necessary information, tools and equipment to perform assigned tasks.

  • Informing Lead or Supervisor of needed materials and update inventory levels as materials are used.

  • Investigating water infiltration and coordinating with other departments as needed to resolve leak related issues; performing water tests as required.

  • Performing roof, gutter/downspout, window leak and other water infiltration repairs as necessary by utilizing materials such as modified fibertite, shingle tile, rubberized, metal seam, geo guard or other roofing systems.

  • Performing preventative maintenance on roofs including cleaning roofs, gutters/downspouts, and inspecting roofs for new work and damage.

  • Cleaning up work area and disposes of all waste materials properly. Cleaning all tools and stores equipment and materials properly.

  • Performing other maintenance related tasks as necessary and determined by business needs.

  • Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policies, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities. 

  • Performing other duties as assigned.



To perform the role of a Roofing Technician successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.

  • High school degree or GED required. Technical school or Associate’s degree (AA) preferred.

  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License in order to operate a company vehicle. 

  • Three to five years commercial roofing experience required.

  • Three to five years general carpentry and construction including framing, drywall, trim work, masonry, and tile preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience also considered.

  • Ability to use extendable boom forklift, forklift, and high reach (aerial lift) required.


The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Roofing Technician job.


  • Ability to lift 15 pounds or more.

  • Ability to use repetitive motion (Several times per hour).

  • Ability to work with vibrating equipment.

  • Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet.


The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the Roofing Technician job.


  • Ability to be exposed to noise (i.e. raise voice to communicate).

  • Ability to work with chemicals and/or related fumes.

  • Ability to work on or around water.

  • Must be able to weld, cut, braze, or work with an open flame.

  • Must be able to work with waste paint/solvents, oils/fuels, waste batteries and aerosols (spray paints and brake cleaners).
