A Break Time Manager provides fast, friendly service to all Break Time customers. This position is expected to perform all operational duties necessary to keep Break Time stores clean and well merchandised and follows all company policies and procedures to ensure proper and efficient operation. Manager will be responsible for running convenience store in accordance with company policy and procedures to ensure maximum sales and profitability. Requirements:

• Must have high school education or equivalent.
• Must have one year experience in retail sales, or management/supervisory experience.
• Must meet or exceed all other sales associate requirements, as stated on the Break Time Sales Associate position description.

Additional Info:

1. Manage Break Time stores as assigned and assume full responsibility for operation.

2. Adhere to and enforce the Break Time Sales Clerk position description. Be able to perform all duties and responsibilities expected of a Break Time Sales Associate.

3. Make sure store is opened and closed at times determined by the district supervisor.

4. Meet or exceed the store budget, in terms of sales, inside profit margins, and cost control goals; (cost control goals include payroll costs, inventory loss, damaged merchandise, bad checks, store supplies, and cash shortages).

5. Maintain a timely schedule that adequately covers staffing needs to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and store cleanliness, while remaining within guidelines stated in #4 above.

6. Perform all administrative duties in an accurate, complete, and timely manner; including daily deposits, daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork and reports, personnel reports (new hire paperwork, including drug screen and background check completed before they start), and payroll reports (completed by 12 noon every Monday, except holidays).

7. Strictly adhere to all corporate cash procedures, and strictly enforce corporate cash policies in the store.

8. Handle customer relations in an efficient and courteous manner and provide for maximum customer satisfaction in a friendly environment.

9. Maintain standards of general maintenance in the store at all times, including equipment. Immediately inform the district supervisor of all major equipment problems.

10. Follow all Break Time dress codes, and enforce strict adherence to the uniform policy, and the personal appearance policy at all times.

11. Enforce all company policies and procedures within the store. Utilize ‘Duty Checklists’ (shift, daily, weekly, and monthly), the ‘Performance Evaluation’, the ‘Store Inspection Report’, the ‘Sales Associate Operations Manual’, the ‘New Hire Orientation Manual’, the ‘Manager Planner and Organizer’, the ‘Manager’s Training and Procedure Manual’, and the ‘Material Safety Data Sheets Manual’ to assist in adherence to and enforcement of company policies, procedures, and expectations. Must have copies of all required manuals in the store for ready reference.

12. Maintain optimum safety and security within the store, including (but not limited to) changing videotapes on a daily basis, ensuring that all recording equipment is working properly, and maintaining a sufficient supply of quality videotapes.

13. Ensure the store is properly stocked at all times with all items necessary to meet our customer needs and Break Time standards. This involves properly ordering and receiving all merchandise and supplies.

14. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations concerning all facets of store operation. Assure familiarity with emergency procedures including (but not limited to) customer/associate injury and fuel related safety issues. Ensure proper procedures, as well as laws and regulations are consistently followed when dealing with alcoholic beverage sales.

15. Check gasoline and diesel fuel levels daily, to within 1/8 inch, to assure proper inventory control. This should be done at the same time daily department totals are taken for purposes of closing out the day.

16. Monitor competitors’ refined oil prices daily, and report to home office along with other sales information.

17. Interview, select, and hire store sales associates.

18. Perform new sales associate training and follow up training of existing sales associates using standard Break Time training procedures, and the documents listed in #11 above.

19. Work along with store associates behind the counter to ensure all facets of the store operations are handled in an efficient manner.

20. Maintain a high degree of morale among associates within the store.

21. Conduct periodic performance evaluations (using the ‘Break Time Performance Checklist and Evaluation’) of sales associates, identifying areas of strength, and developing improvement plans for those areas needing improvement. Evaluations are required a minimum of once per year; suggested once every six months.

22. Counsel and/or discipline store associates as necessary, in conformance with company policies and procedures.

23. Terminate store associates as necessary, in conformance with company policies and procedures.

24. Attend all manager meetings and required training sessions, and conduct regular employee meetings.

25. Openly communicate on a regular basis with the District Supervisor on any and all areas of concern, or areas beyond store manager authority.
