Accurate application of customer payments (check, wire, cash, etc.). Administrative duties related to cash application. Analyze A/R payment applications, compute correcting entries, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records accurate and complete. Perform any combination of routine correspondence, calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.

Primary Responsibilities:
Receive, record, and bank cash, wires, and checks
Prepare bank deposits by electronic deposit, verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to banks
Accurate and timely application of customer payments
Code non-A/R cash receipts according to company procedures and proper GL numbers
Communicate with A/R customers (internal and external) in written and verbal form to obtain explanation of payment clarification and correct check prior entries/unapplied entries
Calculate, prepare, and issue client refunds and send explanation of reimbursement documentation according to established procedures
Compile A/R accounting reports and tables pertaining to cash receipts
Correct unapplied A/R cash receipts according to customer specifications and internal company procedures
Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes
Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information
Debit, credit, and balance accounts on computer spreadsheets and/or databases, using any specialized accounting software as required
Access computerized basic/clerical financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts
Proficiently operate 10-key calculators, typewriters, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents
Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records
Compare computer printouts to manually calculated totals to determine if they match
Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
Opening and distribution of mail
Scanning of checks and all related documentation into document management system

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
6 plus months of cash application/payment experience
Previous experience working with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Experience with Great Plains accounting software
10-key (10,000 kpm) experience
