Job Description
Receive direction from Lab Manager, Regional Administrative Director, Technical Supervisor / Operations Supervisor and the Laboratory Medical Director. Work cooperatively with Administration, Physicians, Allied Health Staff, patients and residents. Under general supervision, greets patients in a friendly, courteous and professional manner while processing clinical orders and collecting specimens by venipuncture, capillary, or other specimen procurement procedure. Must recognize when further clarification is needed from clinical staff (e.g. providers and nursing staff) regarding laboratory orders and obtain required information to process patients in a timely manner. Recognizes the importance of proper patient identification and respects patient confidentiality at all times. Conveys accurate laboratory test result information to providers and other clinical staff while ensuring that "read back" policies are adhered to at all times.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Moderate to advanced computer skills. Excellent communication skills.
Other Qualifications:
Experience working in a medical field, preferred. Phlebotomy experience, preferred.
License or Certification:
Benefit Eligible: No
Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Hours/Pay Period: Per diem hours vary with department needs
Schedule Details: Hours and days are variable
Weekend Schedule: As needed
Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $13.54 per hour
