Position Description:
The Management Trainee is responsible for completing the SCS Management Trainee program, which is designed to be a twelve (12) month regionally-based rotational program with a focused learning in their hiring vertical. The trainee will also gain exposure and familiarity with several Supply Chain verticals and key support functions.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, engineering, finance or related field
Involvement in extra-curricular activities that demonstrate leadership skills
Internship experience preferred
Must be willing to travel 60% or more during the twelve (12) month program
Must be willing to relocate anywhere within the United States at the completion of the program
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Flexibility to operate, and self-driven to excel, in a fast-paced environment
Capable of multi-tasking and highly organized, with excellent time management skills
Responsibilities:
Completion of vertical-specific training curriculum, which may include: equipment management, trip management, employee relations, inbound and outbound planning and coordination, picking and replenishment, shipping and planning, safety, procurement, carrier contracting, freight bill audit and payment, lean process, etc.
Training will involve rotating assignments within the hiring vertical with a focus on developing knowledge and competencies in work assignments and processes, an assignment to supervise hourly employees within an operation, rotations outside the hiring vertical (i.e., AAI, CPG, Technology, Healthcare & Retail, Dedicated, Transportation Management, and FMS).
Trainees may be asked to assist with special projects in addition to the training curriculum.
