CT Technologist - Imaging - Winter Garden - Part Time - Weekend - Nights

Florida Hospital Winter Garden seeks to hire a CT Technologist who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Facility Profile:

Florida Hospital Winter Garden will feature a free-standing, state of the art emergency department that will serve the West Orange Community. The facility will also include an outpatient imaging center, outpatient surgery center, outpatient laboratory services and a multispecialty clinic that will include a variety of physician practices to serve the community's needs. This three-story 97,000-square-foot facility is projected to open in early 2016.

Department Profile:

The Imaging Department will be integrally involved across the spectrum of patient care, assisting medical staff in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Florida Hospital Winter Garden will offer outpatient end emergent imaging services with state of the art technology including 128 slice CT, 3T MRI, Digital X-ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, and Bone Density to ensure the patients receive appropriate, quality procedures and results at the right time.

Work Hours/Shifts:

Three 9-hour shifts, Friday - Sunday

10:30 pm - 8:00 am

Job Summary:

As a CT Technologist with Florida Hospital Winter Garden, you will make providing service your priority while caring for the whole person in a faith-based atmosphere.

Under general supervision, primary duties include imaging both neuro and body scans on patients from neonate to geriatric, following the age specific guidelines of FH parameters, transmitting images for diagnostic interpretation, and keeping the hospital computer system up to date with the progress of these exams. The CT technologist actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, while implementing the principles of Florida Hospital.

Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience Required:

Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds

Knowledge of CT procedures

Knowledge of CT scanners

Ability to learn and grow with new technology

Customer Service skills

CT Safety including radiation protection

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

If certification is from another agency, certification from AHA must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

General computer skills and PACS (Preferred)

Basic IV competency (Preferred)

General physics and anatomy (Preferred)

AS or BS degree in Radiological Technology (Preferred)

Prior CT experience on GE CT scanners (Preferred)

Prior CT experience (Preferred)

License, Certification or Registration Required:

Florida State License- general radiographer

ARRT -- R

ARRT -- CT (Preferred)

Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrates through behavior Florida Hospital's core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork as outlines in the organization's Performance Excellence Program.

Performs all exams using FH CT protocols. Uses FH policy for proper identification of patient prior to performing exam. Educates patient concerning exam. Properly screens patients for any contrast allergies. (Exam supervision and Administration)

Completes all exams in a timely manner, keeps work flow moving, and minimizes empty table time. Follows through after completing exam with communication, transportation and discharge of OP's. (Personal Productivity and Accountability)

Performs all types of imaging procedures and operates all equipment safely and properly including scanners, injectors and monitors. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients on all ages, adapting protocols as necessary. (Clinical Competence)

Properly screens patients of childbearing age, and operates all imaging equipment in a safe manner minimizing radiation exposure to patients, families, and co-workers. Practices infection control standards, and utilizes approved PPE and disinfectant agents. Maintains properly stocked, organized and clean room. Performs QA on CT scanners. Employee job duties may include transport of pharmaceutical waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area. Employee will be required to complete initial training (prior to handling pharmaceutical waste) to include proper handling and transport of pharmaceutical waste, and proper selection, use and disposal of personal protective equipment. Reviews all images of all exams, repeating images as necessary for best possible result.

Uses computer system for ordering, changing, and canceling exams according to protocol. Confirms order matches exam before pushing to PACS or correctly 'fixes' exams on workstation or PACS. (Data Processing)

Assists with collection of data for all KPI's, Six Sigma Projects realizing final goals of department. Participates on Teams as asked, participates in Gallup. Utilizes Service Recovery techniques for patients and families as needed. (Performance Improvement)

Consistently attends department meetings or other mandatory meetings with positive attitude toward department and others. Listens and is responsible for knowing content. (Department Meeting Attendance)
