The AC Hotel, Marriott's new lifestyle brand, located in Cambridge MA will open early 2016. We are searching for a hands-on, dynamic General Manager with a strong operational background. This person will be responsible for opening the hotel and the day to day operations of the hotel once opened, with an emphasis on sales, personnel development and quality assurance. Consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives focused on business revenues, guest and associate satisfaction and effectiveness and efficiencies.

Ensure excellence in guest service while overseeing all Sales & Marketing, Food & Beverage, Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping and Engineering functions.

Active participation in the sales and marketing process, budgeting and forecasting; profit maximization.

Requires the performance of technical and administrative duties including writing and reviewing reports (Profit and Loss statements, yield management, capital planning, payroll, etc. )

Interviewing, hiring, coaching and counseling department managers in the efficient operation of their respective areas.

Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to sell concepts and ideas to management, peers, and associates. The ability to lead by example to build morale and spirit. Communicate goals and objectives and inspire associates to achieve those goals.

Uses a hands-on approach to management and holds team members accountable. Finds ways to cut problems and improve the guest experience.

Regular ongoing monitoring of staff to ensure the adherence to pre-established policies and procedures; delegation of duties; daily property inspections; active participation in community affairs; and willingness and ability to engage in effective communication with corporate staff and property owners.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Two years minimum in the role of General Manager is required Previous experience as General Manager of a Marriott brand, highly valued Ability to influence and achieve results in the areas of profitability and REVPAR Demonstrated passion and sense of urgency in the achievement of results Willingness and ability to train and develop future leaders Highly motivated individual with strong leadership skills Experience with Marriott computer systems preferred Strong budgetary, projections and cost control skills Excellent time management skills Strong organizational skills Strong customer service orientation and skills Must be self-motivated and results oriented Creative problem solving skills Experience making presentations in front of groups Must be ServeSafe certified within 60 days of employment
