Job Requirements (Core Competencies)

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Experience: Minimum of one year experience

License/Certification: Current CO or multi-state compact RN license. American Heart Association BLS certification required within 90 day orientation period. Oncology Nursing Certification preferred within one year of hire. ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certification preferred within 6 months of hire.

Other required skills and abilities: Computer literacy, good keyboard skills, basic medical terminology, good interpersonal skills, and good telephone skills.

Physical Abilities: Vision sufficient to read computer terminal, insurance cards, and physician orders. Hearing sufficient to interact with client who may be unable to speak at normal voice level. Mobility (including lifting, bending, stooping, reaching) and dexterity sufficient to assist clients and handle required equipment and supplies.

Physical Requirements

Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly.

JOB SUMMARY: Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patients' plan of care. Prepares and administers chemotherapeutic agents and other medications as ordered by physician. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Is familiar with oncology diagnoses, treatments, adverse effects and symptom management. Reports to Clinical Manager.
