Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the Office Technician (Typing) provides clerical and technical support to the Complaint and Compliance Unit. The OT (T) is responsible for reviewing, processing, and tracking incoming complaints. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Input dentistry complaint information received into the Board's Enforcement Automated tracking system, Consumer Affairs System (CAS) and update the system as needed or directed. Independently draft or process discrepancy or acknowledgment notices or other written communication notices regarding the dentistry complaint and send to complainant. Review consumer complaint and apply Board statute, regulations, processes or procedures for determining appropriate violation codes and assign the complaint to the consumer services analyst. Design and implement a tracking method and follow-up database system to ensure accountability and control of complaint intake records received and assigned. Draft reports for management updates regarding specific complaints. Respond to e-mail inquiries from the Complaint intake e-mail box. Assess each e-mail to ascertain the problem, conduct research, consult with section colleagues or management to understand the situation, Draft and update templates for management approval and send responses on the least sensitive, routine inquires, Assign complex or highly technical inquiry e-mails to the complaint analyst. Answer and provide assistance on incoming calls. Apply Board statue, regulations, processes and procedures in providing responses to sensitive, routine inquiries regarding laws, regulations and departmental policies in reference to dentistry complaints. Mail out complaint forms to consumers or licensees as requested. Process all incoming mail and distribute to appropriate staff, assist in filing and routing information to appropriate staff.

Background Check Requirements: Title 11, section 703D California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).
