Position Summary:
Responsible for the coordination of department related activities including the maintenance and repair of all fork truck, conveyors, motors, reducers, controls and associated equipment. Knowledgeable in preventative maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guidelines, work request documentation, spare parts procurement, and inventory control . Responsible for balancing the workforce to achieve daily goals and ensuring compliance with all safety procedures. Responsible for making sure maintenance procedures are accurately executed.
Required Qualifications:
* Experienced in mechanical, electrical and pneumatic conveyor system maintenance and repair.
* Experienced in programmable logic control repair and diagnostics.
* Experienced in AC/DC arc welding and gas welding/cutting.
Preferred Essential Functions
* Ensure all tasks are performed in accordance to all OSHA and distribution center guidelines.
* Assist in developing safety and maintenance procedures.
* Assist in coordinating work performed by outside vendors.
* Assist in achieving department goals.
* Maintain and repair all mechanical aspects of fixed material handling conveying and distribution processing equipment.
* Maintain and repair all peripheral equipment and supporting devices associated with fixed conveying and distribution processing equipment.
* Maintain and repair all forklifts and man lifts.
* Maintain and repair all HVAC equipment.
* Maintain lead-acid batteries.
* Maintain accuracy and appropriate inventory levels for all associated equipment spare parts, hardware, and specialty tools.
* Diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions and failures in a timely and effective manner.
* Ensure optimum equipment performance through maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance tasks that are in accordance to the original manufacture's (OEM) specifications and guidelines or appropriate facsimile thereof; unless otherwise specified by management.
* Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, circuit boards, sensors, relays, limit switches, flow switches, scanners, VFDs, and PLCs, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
* Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
* Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors, electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical control systems.
* Develop a working knowledge of hydrogen fuel cells.
* Maintain and repair hydrogen delivery system, including compressors and dispensers.
* Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, conveyor and electrical components.
* Read, comprehend, and interpret technical reference manuals, blueprints, wiring diagrams, electrical/pneumatic schematics, and ladder logic diagrams.
* Overtime demands- seasonal and heavy promotional times require overtime regularly, up to and including weekends.
* Perform other duties as required by Supervision/Management.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Good written and verbal communication skills to include the ability to read, write, and count legible and accurately.
* Good organizational skills.
* Demonstrated expertise in the use of basic and sophisticated hand tools.
* Knowledge of mathematics and elementary algebraic equations.
* Ability to operate and be certified as an operator of power jacks, fork trucks, overhead cranes and other power equipment as needed.
* Analyzes equipment failures, determines cause and makes necessary repairs.
* Work with sensors, VFDs, circuit boards, relays, limit switches, flow switches, trouble shoot motors & conveyors, PLC's.
* Perform preventative maintenance as instructed on all equipment and machinery.
* Works from blueprints, schematic drawings, sketches or layouts.
* Works with manufacturer technical support departments to troubleshoot system failures.
* Work overtime as required.
* Must possess valid driver's license.
* Physical Demands : This position has a (0-33%) lifting requirement up to 75lbs. Other physical activities include frequent bending/reaching/stooping; (34-66%); frequent walking, standing, climbing (34-66%).
* Work Environment : Warehouse environment, which includes seasonal temperature changes, rolling equipment, and conveyors.
Education:
* High school diploma or G.E.D. required
* Minimum of four years experience in a General Maintenance position with team leadership responsibilities.
