About this job

Performs all duties required to layout, fabricate, and install electrical wiring or coaxial cable on aircraft/marine based electrical system. Checks, tests, and troubleshoots electrical systems for conformance to specifications and performs repair, removal, and reinstallation of wiring as necessary. Cuts wire to length; strips insulation from wire ends, and insulates connections with plastic sleeves. Attaches wire or complicated electrical systems to fixtures and accessories such as transformers, instrument panels, and switchboards with fasteners such as bolts, screws, or solder. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Must possess skills and abilities to perform the requirements of a ship board or airframe electrician's trade with little supervision or guidance. Expected to know how to read and interpret drawings, specifications, technical manuals, design notices, etc. Must know and understand the use of all tools of their trade such as multi-meters, pin crimpers, soldering and expected to accomplish the more complex tasks associated with electrical installations of cable, military circular connectors, panel box and power terminations, etc. Be familiar with basic computer skills. Checks, tests, and troubleshoots electrical systems for conformance to specifications and performs repair, removal, and reinstallation of wiring as necessary. U.S citizenship/legal Alien required. Naval Shipboard experience will be considered in lieu of years of experience. Successful completion of Military class 'A' school for basic electrical theory understanding is desired. Be familiar with basic computer skills. Experience/Certification in multi-pin MIL-STD connectors desired. The candidate must have three (3) years' experience in electrical repairs to layout, fabricate, and install electrical wiring or coaxial cable on aircraft/shipboard systems.
