Florida Hospital Celebration Health seeks to hire a Group Fitness Instructor who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.
Florida Hospital Celebration Facility Profile:
Established in 1997 and now a 203-bed hospital, Florida Hospital Celebration Health was designed as a Mediterranean resort-style facility to serve as a cornerstone of health in Disney's planned community of Celebration, Florida. The hospital consistently delivers a state-of-the-art healing environment to residents of Osceola, Orange, Polk and Lake Counties, as well as to visitors from across the United States and the world. All within a "living laboratory" of groundbreaking, research-driven clinical solutions that integrate mind, body and spirit in the defeat of illness and disease.
Department Profile:
The Fitness Centre & Day Spa at Florida Hospital Celebration Health is a facility designed to meet the health and wellness needs of its members and guests. Voted the "Best Workout Facility" and "Best Day Spa" in Orlando for 2014, the 50,000 square-foot facility features state-of-the-art equipment such as Technogym, over 250 Group Fitness classes per month including Zumba, Les MillsTM, yoga and aquatics, a heated therapy pool and 25-meter lap pool, and full service locker rooms complete with saunas, steam rooms, showers and amenities.
The Day Spa offers a variety of relaxing and rejuvenating services from a team of licensed therapists, including Swedish and Therapeutic massages, facials, manicures and pedicures, and acupuncture treatments.
At the Fitness Centre & Day Spa in Celebration Health the focus is on total wellness of "Body, Mind & Spirit!"
Work Hours/Shifts:
Per Diem; Tuesdays and Thursdays (5 - 7pm) at the Tupperware Headquarters and must be able to sub at the Celebration Health Fitness Centre as needed
Job Summary:
As a Group Fitness Instructor, you will make providing service your priority while caring for the whole person in a faith-based atmosphere. The Group Fitness Instructor actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The Group Fitness Instructor also functions as a developer, mentor, and overseer of the group fitness classes, programs and services they lead/teach. He or she will originate, promote, implement, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate quality group fitness programs that will enable fitness center members to reach their fitness goals. He or she will provide a safe class environment for the members and guests and service members by supporting their participation in programs and activities while promoting member retention.
Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience Required:
CPR and AED Certification
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
Current certification in group fitness / health and fitness field from a nationally recognized certifying agency such as ACE, AFAA, or Les Mills (preferred)
Job Responsibilities:
*Note: If non-certified, certified instructor must be present when classes are held/training is occurring.
Greets members and staff with exemplary service, a smile and empathy.
Provides a quality class by; beginning and ending on time, preparing lesson in advance, offering classes which are in accordance with the policies of the organization and the design of the class, and have music cued in advance.
Provide the appropriate class format for the class being offered.
Supervises each participant for safety during all phases of the class. Correct participants professionally where necessary
Conducts self professionally at all times either with members or with staff.
Reports all incidences or injuries using the proper forms and submits to Group Fitness Manager. Follow-up is required by instructors via the Group Fitness Manager's instruction.
Maintains appropriate certifications
Ensures appropriate coverage of classes in the case of illness, injury, or vacation
