**This is a new store opening Spring 2016 and will be open Saturday and Sunday

Both the Contact Lens Assistant and the Optical Assistant facilitate patient flow through the vision center by greeting patients. They provide accurate information regarding scheduling of appointments, third party benefits, and Visionworks services and products. The Optical Assistant verifies and data enters patient information (history), payments, and orders. They pre-screen patients prior to eye examinations, file patient records, and perform other functions which ensure customer service satisfaction.

Supports sales by utilizing sales techniques to ensure the sale of Service Agreements, Sunglasses, Solutions, Spare Pairs of lenses/glasses etc. Provides information to customers on various optical products and usage, which will enhance the wear and comfort of their contact lenses. May service customers by providing instructions on contact lens care (cleaning & storage), insertion and removal.

Provides customers with accurate information regarding appointment scheduling and follow-up visits, glasses or contacts preparations, any insurance and/or 3 rd Party benefit inquiries either in person or by telephone.

The contact lens assistant is also responsible for the maintenance of the Contact Lens Room including the planograms (merchandising) and sundry (solution) items by keeping shelves and displays stocked. Tracks expiration dates of all lenses and solutions. Assures that the Contact Lens Room is always clean and organized.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Courteously greet and accurately instruct customers on contact lens product information and use.

2. Utilize sales techniques to ensure the sale of continuing eye care plan, sunglasses, solutions, spare pairs of lenses/glasses, etc.

3. Provide customers with accurate information regarding appointment scheduling and followup visits, glasses or contacts preparation, any insurance and/or third party benefit inquiries either in person or by telephone.

4. Maintain accurate and consistent consignment of all lenses (daily wear, frequent replacement lenses, color enchances, opaque, etc.). Track inventory, sales, new stock, and any transfers or returns.

5. Responsible for the maintenance of the Contact Lens Room including the planograms (merchandising) and sundry (solution) items by keeping shelves and displays stocked. Track expiration dates of all lenses and solution. Assure that the Contact Lens Room is always clean and organized.

6. Prepare various reports and other documentation including: Job Status Reports, Special Back Order Reports, Process Sheets and maintains SKU book.

7. Educate customer on proper wear and care guidelines utilizing company wearing guide to include customer signature.

8. Adhe re to privacy and confidential and proprietary company policies and procedures (i.e. HIPAA).

9. Participate in any/all training and educational activities necessary to fulfill at least the minimum requirements as specified within your departmental goals. This is in addition to, the completion of any activities necessary for the maintenance of professional affiliations or organizational requirements.

10. Diligently maintain the cleanliness of all equipment, workstations and the overall facility on a daily basis.

11. As required by changing business needs, complete additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education, Experience & Background:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

One to Three months related experience and/or training

Equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum of six (6) months work experience in a Retail or Customer Service setting
