Advocate Medical Group is a physician-led medical group providing primary care, specialty services, medical imaging, outpatient services and community based medical practices throughout the Chicagoland and Bloomington/Normal.
The nurse practitioner serves as a primary care provider and consultant for individuals, families and communities. Their practice emphasizes health promotion and maintenance, disease prevention and the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. This includes taking histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering, performing and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescription of pharmacological agents, treatments and non~pharmacological therapies for the management of the conditions which they diagnose. Assist with and conducts occupational health services as needed to the benefit of the clinic.
Masters Degree in Nursing. 2 years clinical experience in area of specialty. This position will need to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients and provide age appropriate care. Well~developed written skills. Well developed interpersonal and communication skills. Performs adequate physical assessment of patients. National certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Current Illinois CNP License. Current Illinois Registered Nurse License.
Flexible hours. Work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations. The candidate must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting patients and moving equipment. If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.
