Job Summary Temporary Math Tutor/Workshop Instructor for the Center for Educator Preparation.

The Center for Educator Preparation is looking for a Math Workshop Instructor to perform the following duties:

1) Support Education students' efforts as applied to the math portion of the Professional Readiness Examination by:

-Coordinating efforts with faculty members on math workshop design and schedule

-Conduct math workshops on select Fridays and Saturdays

2) Work with the Data Analyst in the CEP to identify students needing intensive math remediation.

Work hours:

Mutually determined by the Director of the Center for Educator Preparation as flexible to student need. Hours will not exceed 10 per week.

Required Qualifications* -UM Flint current student or graduate students.

-Strong math skills as evidenced by GPA, coursework and test. Applicants will be required to take UM Flint's Math PRE and then explain answers to the interview panel as part of the hiring process.

-General understanding of test taking strategies

Desired Qualifications* -Previous experience as a math tutor or math teacher preferred. Coaching experience is helpful.
