Providence is calling a Senior Instructional Designer to Providence Health & Services in Portland, OR, Anchorage AK, Torrance CA, Burbank CA or Renton, WA.

We are seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to provide technical knowledge, advice and support in the design, development, and implementation of Clinical Informatics and Training common core training materials. The Sr. Instructional Designer is responsible for establishing processes and tools for identifying training needs, creating and maintaining training content, developing courseware, and evaluating training effectiveness. Using established instructional design models, the Sr. Instructional Designer is accountable for creating and operationalizing training programs utilizing a variety of delivery methods including class-room based training, eLearning tutorials, and remote instructor led training, self-paced training documents, and training videos.

In this position you will:

Provide feedback, mentoring, and coaching to Instructional Designers to increase their skills and expertise.

Lead team initiatives and improvement projects; Lead and participate in cross functional projects and/or committees.

Lead Curriculum Design & Review Teams; Provide Subject Matter Expertise and collaborate with other Subject Matter experts to ensure learning content is effective and relevant.

Assess and address educational needs related to clinician/provider and business professional use of clinical information systems.

Perform analysis of complicated situations and/or data, interpret results, and make recommendations on the design and development of education interventions.

Develop and implement plans to integrate training into complex program plans and schedules.

Manage large scale training initiatives within assigned area of clinical or business-based specialization.

Develop curriculum for clinical information and communication systems and provides education to training delivery teams.

Required qualifications for this position include:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Technical Writing, Organizational Development, Informatics, Information Services, or equivalent work/educational experience.

Minimum of seven years of experience in roles focused on creating, designing, and writing training materials.

Minimum of five years of experience in a position working with a clinical information system within a healthcare setting

Project management and/or project team leadership.

Knowledge of professional standards (for licensed nurses, physicians and other clinicians and other healthcare professionals), as reflected in the appropriate practice act of the state where licensed, if applicable.

Knowledge and understanding of adult learning styles; ability to create learning content and blended learning curriculum utilizing established instructional design models and the 10/20/70 Learning Model.

Ability to create training content that can be delivered consistently and successfully by a wide range of independent facilitators and trainers.

Ability to develop web based training offerings; comfortable working with subject matter experts to capture and import content into e-learning tools.

Works with virtual teams effectively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

Bachelor's degree in a clinical discipline such as Nursing, Medical Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Clinical Dietetics, Rehabilitation Therapies, Pharmacy, etc.

Minimum of five years of experience supporting clinician and business professional use of an EMR system, with expertise in hospital or ambulatory clinical computer applications, especially those used at PH&S.

Change management and process improvement leadership.

Experience in a multi-site healthcare environment.

Certification in one or more Epic Modules.

Active license or certification to practice as a clinician (MD, RN, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Dietitian, Clinical Social Worker, Respiratory Therapist, etc.) for a percentage of the roles.
