Key tasks

MAIN DUTIES:Administration

* Assist the Executive Housekeeper in the day to day operations of the department.

* Ensures that the department runs efficiently and harmoniously and keeps high morale among staff.

* Assists the Executive Housekeeper in ordering, following up of supplies, uniforms and linens, administrating lost and found service and following up work to be done by

Engineering and Laundry for the department.

* Supervises the general inventory of all materials, linens, supplies, uniforms and equipment.

* Sees that all Housekeeping records are maintained.

* Makes daily rounds and spot inspection of guest rooms and public areas.

* Conducts training of newly hired personnel, continuously re-trains old staff and provide cross training where needed.

* Maintains good rapport between Housekeeping and other departments.

* Keeps the Executive Housekeeper posted on unusual happening in the hotel on a daily basis.

* Enforces cleanliness and neatness in appearance of personnel, making sure they conform to the standard uniform required by the hotel.

* Makes spot inspection of personnel's performance and behavior.

* Sees that all personnel follow correct safety procedures and house rules.

* Assists in conducting yearly grading of rooms.

* Responsible for the overseeing sickness and vacation leaves of staff.

* Perform duties common to all managers and other duties as maybe assigned.

Financial and Revenue Responsibilities

* Directly supervises the Housekeeping Supervisors. Responsible for controlling costs in all areas.

* Prepares Expense Forecast and Profit and Loss Analysis Report.
