Do you make patients the heart of everything you do? Sodexo has an outstanding partnership with St. Luke's Hospital - Anderson Campus , Pennsylvania's newest, full-service health care facility. St. Luke's Anderson Campus is a 108 bed facility. We are seeking a Food Service Manager 1 to support the retail food service operations in the hospital's cafeteria. This manager will focus on supervision of five to six hospital-paid, non-union frontline (hourly) employees including cashiers, salad bar employees and grill cooks. We are looking for someone who can provide hands-on leadership and who can also grow with the role as a new building will be added to the campus next year. Additionally, from March to October of each year a full organic farm is run on this campus so the Food Service Manager 1 is expected to help create retail menus that fully respect and utilize this produce. Prior cash supervision experience is also preferred.

This hospital campus is located in Easton, Pennsylvania a little over an hour from Philadelphia and is set against a serene, natural landscape. State of the art medical and surgical services are offered in three adjacent buildings - the main Hospital, the Medical Office Building and the Cancer Center. Patients are benefiting from inpatient care, emergency room services, surgical services, radiology services and more.

What can you bring to the table?

Your computer savvy abilities to be able to utilize Sodexo's propriety software for food ordering (FMS) and menu design (SMG) Your attention to detail as we provide our visitors and staff with exemplary food, including a full organic salad bar complete with produce grown on the hospital's organic farm Your leadership as a manager who can ensure that the cafeteria is kept clean, well-stocked and running at peak efficiency in order to successfully serve 3K customers/week Your growth potential as volume at this location will increase next year due to a proposed expansion Key focus areas for the Food Service Manager 1 will be:

Focusing on retail menu creation, adherence to Sodexo's retail standards and Sodexo's cash handling protocols. Ensuring Sodexo's food and physical safety programs are implemented ( candidates with a strong food safety background including the possession of a ServSafe certification are preferred ) Providing stellar hospitality and customer service to visitors and staff Providing hands-on assistance as necessary (especially during lunch) to ensure that all areas of the retail cafeteria and are cleaned, well-stocked and running smoothly It is the policy of our client, St. Luke's Health System, that employees are prohibited from using any nicotine containing products. The successful applicant will be required to submit to drug and nicotine tests.

This manager will need to be available to work every other weekend.

Position Summary

Responsible for managing multi-functional food service areas in a single unit. May assume General Manager's (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence. Assists in maintenance of cash control and payroll records. Assists in supporting the financial/Human Resources (HR) functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
