Position Summary: Hours vary. May start as early as 6:30 am and as late as 8 pm. Typically only one late night a week.

Responsibilities: Medical Assistants function as members of the health care delivery team and perform administrative and patient care functions. The duties of the medical assistant vary from department to department, depending on location, size, and specialty. Medical Assistants work within the Department of Nursing and can receive Nursing Director defined responsibilities that may be delegated by Physician and Registered Nurses. These defined responsibilities are within the scope of responsibility as described by this Job Description/Development Plan, nursing policy and the individual's competency level.

Qualifications: Minimum requirements include graduation from an accredited medical assistant program with a diploma. Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers- BCLS -- certificate of course completion required and must not expire within 3 months after start date. A scanned copy of the certificate of completion or transcripts, including your full name, must be attached to your profile to be considered.

Additional Qualifications: Experience in ambulatory nursing preferred Ability to work effectively under stress and efficiently handle daily fluctuations in patient volume. Ability to work effectively and professionally with patients, co-workers and physicians. Must be proficient in speaking, reading and writing English

License or Certification: Certified MA and Must maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) competency

Hours/Pay Period: 60

Schedule Details: Hours and days of the week vary dependent upon the Providers schedule that you are assigned to. Typically work one late shift per week. Clinic closes at 7pm. May work as early as 6:30 am

Weekend Schedule: Required to work one Saturday approximately every 12-14 weeks. Hours on Saturday are 730-whenever last patient leaves, clinic hours on Saturday are 8-12.
