POSITION PURPOSE - This individual works with the Financial Reporting group at Citibank to review, analyze, and control all expenses related to Home Depot's consumer and commercial private label credit portfolios. The Citi and THD teams are responsible for developing operating budgets for all aspects of the program, including 1,500+ associates and 3-4 call center sites in the US and Canada. This individual reviews all supporting documentation for comprehensive monthly/quarterly/annual P&L statements, and ensures accurate distribution of credit costs & profit sharing between THD and Citi.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - In conjunction with Citi, assist in development of annual budgets for all aspects of credit operation. Monitor all expenses and report on performance against budget. Review detailed, invoice-level support documentation to ensure accuracy. Develop, recommend, and implement strategies to proactively address issues or problems with financial results of operation. Perform audit function to ensure correct treatment and allocation of portfolio expenses. Interface with THD Finance and Accounting groups to ensure appropriate recognition and correct reporting of all income and expenses.
NATURE AND SCOPE - Typically reports to Manager, Financial Planning & Reporting. This position has no direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 3
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES - 3-4 years experience in Finance and/or Accounting function. Experience with Private Label Credit, or extensive knowledge of THD Accounting and Financial Reporting systems, policies, and procedures. Experience in working with operating budgets, variance reports, and financial processes/controls. Excellent quantitative and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
