Summary:

The Catering Attendant for Bon Appétit Management Company serves food at scheduled functions under the supervision of the Catering Manager. This position is primarily responsible for set up, service, break down and clean up of multiple functions or areas on campus. Ensures the accurate execution of all events during his/her shift. May drive a catering delivery truck. Sets up and serves at functions; cleans event area during and after events; breaks down the setup and leaves the area neat and clean; returns leftover food and equipment to the catering facility in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Greets customers courteously, and interacts with customers in a manner. Ensures guests receive friendly, courteous service at all times.
  • Serves customer food and beverage orders quickly, in proper portions, in a courteous demeanor.
  • Set buffet tables as well as food, beverage and service items according to pre-established Great Expectations Catering standards.
  • Ensures that all necessary food items have identifiers or menus, displayed in a clean and consistent manner.
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains same to customers accurately.
  • Assembles and delivers all food and supplies for catered functions to the scheduled locations.
  • Consistently exhibits the ability to keep up with catering delivery schedules and does so calmly, accurately and efficiently.
  • Relays relevant comments from customers directly to supervisors.
  • Keeps display equipment, buffets and tables clean and free of debris during meal service as assigned.
  • Keeps service area clean before, during, and after meal service. Thoroughly cleans location after event is completed.
  • Interact with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented manner.
  • Represents company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer and employee interactions.
  • Logs and maintains food temperatures.
  • Arranges tables and decorations.
  • Maintains clean and safe work environment.
  • Follows safety and sanitation policy and procedures at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Valid California State Food Handlers Certification required.
  • Valid driver's license may be required; must possess or able to obtain a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol servers' permit where required by state law.

Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Push and pull carts weighing up to 100lbs.
