The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Sr. Director of Finance for our Finance Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Position Summary
The Senior Director of Finance Technical operations directs and controls the major financial planning and analysis responsibilities for all technical operations functions within New York City-TWC ' s Financial Services function, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, monthly close, and accounting policies and procedures, to ensure TWC ' s compliance with standard financial accounting policies and practices. In addition, a big part of this role is making sure we are adhering to consistent measurements across markets with respect to operational metrics which are produced daily, weekly and monthly.
Essential Job Functions:
Serves as the primary contact and consultant to the GVP of Finance and the Regional Vice President of Operations on critical financial issues.
Escalates potential critical financial/regulatory/internal business control issues as they arise, and proposes recommendations for mitigation/remediation and or internal controls.Act as strategic business partner to market VP’s and Area VP of Operations to ensure attainment of business objectives.Accountable to the Group Vice President of Finance for providing insights, guidance and recommendations on both financial and operational efficiencies for the region/sub-regions, including financials projections, monthly variance analysis, and annual budget preparationAnalyzes, synthesizes and interprets key financial reporting and business operating metrics for the region/sub-region and presents recommendations for meeting financial and customer service excellence targets.Coordinates efforts in support of attaining, preparing and reviewing financial data, analysis, and reporting including potential acquisitions/dispositions and financial aspects of those proposals; makes pertinent recommendations to region/market management.Collaborates with senior staff to align strategy and positioning for the business.Internal Resource Management including: Facilitation and support of departmental roster reviews for validation and update (add/term/move). Calculation of employee related costs (wages, taxes, benefits, etc.) incorporating variables collected from HR, department leaders as well as Corporate guidance. Review and approval of staffing requisitions throughout the year to ensure adherence to annual budget.Residential Technical Operations Expenses including: Assist Technical Operations Teams with the completion of expense budgets. Ensure capitalized costs are in sync with subscriber activities, headcount and capital projections. Evaluate and complete Manpower Justification (MPJ) with Technical Operations Teams to develop staffing (internal and external) requirements.Other Expenses including: Coordination with the Capital Team to develop installation capitalization entries, depreciation and amortization expenses. Coordination with Senior Management and functional leaders to evaluate potential restructuring activities and qualifying costs.Directly accountable for meeting the strategic financial and operating objectives of their respective geographic markets. Contributes to the market and/or region ' s business and financial operating strategies that will support efficiency, growth and expansionHelps to cultivate future leaders within Financial Services by giving them accountability and opportunities for growthMakes, or reviews others, selection, disciplinary, termination, and compensation decisions.Job Requirements:
Demonstrates proven prior financial analysis/business operations and strategic experience at the Director level, preferably in a cable or telecom environment.Exhibits organizational, management skills and a leadership profile suited to a strategic role requiring consultative, collaborative, and communication skills to be an effective bridge-builder between corporate, regional and field goals and initiatives.An in-depth knowledge of financial, planning and practices as well as an operational focus and experience are necessary.Strong PowerPoint and excel skills to be able to present a full story/picture of current state business operations and other financial dataExperience taking complex problems/data and putting them into one page of material.Requires strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills in a deadline driven environment.Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrates proven prior financial analysis/business operations and strategic experience at the Manager level, preferably in a cable or telecom environment.Exhibits organizational, management skills and a leadership profile suited to a strategic role requiring consultative, collaborative, and communication skills to be an effective bridge-builder between corporate, regional and field goals and initiatives.An in-depth knowledge of financial, planning and practices as well as an operational focus and experience are necessary.Strong PowerPoint and excel skills to be able to present a full story/picture of current state business operations and other financial dataExperience taking complex problems/data and putting them into one page of materialRequires strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills in a deadline driven environment.Education and Experience:
