The Director of Learning, Stores Training is responsible for leading the development and implementation of a large scale, global learning program designed specifically for Store team members working in a specialty retailer environment. The Director is responsible for developing the vision and driving the Learning agenda and curriculum for store team members. This includes developing and delivering content that supports the strategic business objectives and ensuring that all learning materials are relevant and meet the needs of our team members and leaders. This role will work on a range of Learning and Development topics that will vary over time with a strong focus on perfecting the art of customer service. It will be essential to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver timely, high quality, innovative, relevant, and effective Learning and Development solutions that drive continuous business success.

Essential Job Functions:

· Lead, direct, and foster a high performing Learning Team which aspires to become a best in class provider of learning and training for store team members for a large scale specialty retailer.

· Conduct assessment of status quo of current trainings and training documents and videos, and internal training website.

· Evaluate all trainings and trainers for delivering content that consistently contributes to a high performance culture in our stores.

· Design and deliver holistic learning strategies which include instructor led training, leader-led training, self-study, blended learning, e-learning and digital media, and experienced based learning for diverse learning styles.

· Lead the design and implementation of high impact leadership and management development experiences that provide real time learning and on-going coaching support.

· Be an active thought partner and collaborate with the Executive Director of Organizational Development and Learning to further the vision of developing talent, fostering employee engagement, and building the technical and leadership capabilities needed to drive our business success.

· Lead and oversee the design, development, delivery and implementation of Store Learning, Training, and Development in a variety of subject areas including Customer Service, Selling Skills, New Hire Training, Product Knowledge, Operational Training, and Leadership skills.

· Lead the design, development and implementation of Store Learning and Development programs, workshops, and resources tailored to meet specific needs.

· Determine the scope, select appropriate solutions, leverage traditional and innovative strategies and technology, and create supplemental materials to support store learning.

· Lead role in facilitation of Store Learning and Development programs and workshops (e.g. in-person, e-learning, and blended learning experiences)

· Lead role in managing master training calendar of Learning and Development Store programs; including ensuring logistics and resources to support training project objectives.

· Global owner of the LMS system.

· Manage the roll-out of a LMS system to all employees in collaboration with internal HR partners.

· Evaluate the effectiveness of learning and development solutions for Store team members and measure and report out on the return on investment.

· Establish performance metrics; track, measure and analyze, including impact/return on investment for all learning programs.

· Make recommendations to enhance individual and team effectiveness and streamline and simplify quality offerings. Provide feedback and recommendations to promote sustainability.

· Evaluate, recommend, and champion new and innovative technology and methods to deliver training to store team members.

· Build positive and sustainable partnerships with Organizational Development and Learning Team, HR Business Partners, and leverage relationships across the organization to secure and advance support for Store Learning and Development initiatives, and manage change effectively.




# Qualifications



· Bachelor’s Degree in Adult Learning, Education, HR or Business

· Master’s Degree in Adult Learning, Education, HR, or Business preferred

· Minimum 6 years of experience in Adult Learning, Education, HR, or Business

· 8 years working in a Specialty Retailer store environment with leading, designing, and executing significant Learning, Training, and Development to store team members.

· Strategic planning and Systems Thinker – Strong strategic thinking skills and experience building strategic plans; Ability to translate strategy into organizational capability and develop learning solutions in a specialty retailer environment that drive a high performing culture, stability and retention. Exemplifies excellent decision making, judgement, and common sense.

· Program Development and Project Management – Successful track record leading complex, multi-functional projects; Division or enterprise-wide program development and program management required. Ability to design, develop, and deliver leadership learning and development content to a broad set of levels and functions.

· Organization Agility – Understands how to effectively navigate a complex organization; Comfort working in a highly complex organization; Ability to effectively navigate ambiguity.

· Deliver Results – Solid, proven track record of delivery results; Ability to design strategic stores training initiatives and interventions that drive business performance. A demonstrated track record of success in this area is essential.

· Change and Communications – Has led large-scale change initiatives; Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills; Able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communications settings and styles; Ability to make the complex simple, practical, and actionable.

· Interpersonal Savvy – Able to build strong, effective relationships with people at all levels; Excellent interpersonal skills/relationship builder and people manager; Ability to consult effectively with leaders; Success in building stakeholder support, alignment and active engagement – Must be seen as a strong business and HR partner.

· Ability to thrive in a changing environment with evolving priorities and able to work autonomously and/or within teams and serve as a trusted partner and advisor with internal team members

· Ability to influence senior leaders.
