Dispatcher

Currently seeking a logistics/dispatch specialist for a company in the Concord, NC area! This is a contract to hire opportunity on 3rd shift.

Candidates need a variety of experience in the following:

-Primary duties include: dispatching trucks, scheduling, routing drivers, covering back-hauls, and discussing delivery services with customers, and work efficiently with the team
-Responsible to ensure the most efficient freight movement and cost effective service as well as compliance with DOT and Safety regulations.
-Responsible to meet on-time performance requirements.
-Resolve transportation problems with urgency and professionalism.
-Responsible for printing / sorting all related paperwork, and checking-in drivers; include maintaining all data files, and utilization & efficiency reports, and assisting other team members as required.
-Have a solid understanding of what "maintenance" in the dispatch world means (i.e. handling warranties, PM work, vendor issues).
-Hours of service knowledge
-Establish standards and enforce driver accountability with on-time and safety for all deliveries
-Manage and troubleshoot personnel and escalate concerns to higher management as needed
-Manage and troubleshoot driver issues (O/O's and Contract Drivers)
-Train and develop new or existing talent as required by management
As a preference but NOT required- experience in TMT (maintenance component) and TMW (dispatch form) systems.
