The Atlanta, GA Branch has an excellent opportunity for an Air Import Agent and an Air Export Agent. We are looking for a team player with 10+ years experience in the freight forwarding industry. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and customer service skills. Very good interpersonal skills, attention to details and a positive, professional demeanor are essential for success. Position reports to the Team Leader and the Manager of Air Cargo. No subordinate staff reporting to this position. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Prepare all necessary shipping documentation to effectuate proper and legal transport of goods and services both internationally and domestically
Coordinate NVOCC consolidation and destination deconsolidation services via Air cargo and Ocean FCL/LCL cargo and SAT multi-modal methods, by the most cost and service effective methods to generate a profit for NEU
Timely and efficiently handle routine Import and Export shipments; Handle non-routine, sophisticated and complex shipping transactions for high profile customers
Perform specific and assigned operations and administrative tasks in order to provide high quality customer service while meeting the Company's goals
Provide professional, high quality customer service by direct customer contact
Communicate effectively with internal departments, other regional branches and offices, and all external contacts

Requirements

High School Graduate, GED or equivalency certificate, or significant, relevant or appropriate working experience; Minimum of 10+ years’ freight forwarding industry experience, including: experience in Air Cargo logistics and documentation, waybills and Incoterms; air accounting preferred; Strong organizational skills with superior attention to details and follow-up; Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications, customer service and teamwork skills, with professional, positive, and motivated demeanor; Ability to understand, develop and maintain multi-cultural relationships; Patience – able to deal with complex processes that may involve multiple levels of approval; Strong computer skills (AS-400, Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes; Japanese language skill a plus Must be available to work flexible scheduled hours and days depending upon customer demands including early or later starts, overtime, weekends and occasional holidays.
