Description

New Jersey MENTOR has an immediate need for Direct Support Professionals to provide assistance to at-risk youth in accordance with the Service Plan for the purpose of direct care services, behavioral redirection, training, and support to address the functional/daily or community living skills needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, substance abuse issues and/or emotional or behavioral challenges.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED with at least 3 years of verifiable experience providing direct care to youth with emotional, medical, and behavioral challenges preferred or Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 year of verifiable experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Car registration and vehicle insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services
  • Familiar with New Jersey’s Chapter 128 Licensing Requirements is a plus
  • Familiar with Motivational Interviewing, De-escalation techniques, Boundaries and AWOL Prevention is a Plus.

Note: All hires will be required to attend a two week orientation: Monday thru Friday
