Application Engineer

The Application Engineer coordinates all pre-sales activity to include conceptual layout development, estimating, and quoting.

The Application Engineer's responsibilities include the following:

• Gather the required information for each project by interfacing with the Regional Sales Manager and/or customer
• Develop a system concept and create a conceptual layout drawing of the proposed system
• Generate pricing for each piece of equipment utilizing internal pricing tools as well as soliciting bids from outside vendors when required
• Generate a proposal to present to the customer
• Revise the drawing, pricing, and/or proposal as needed
• Work with engineering and manufacturing to establish a delivery schedule
• Prepare sold projects for handoff to the Project Management team

Interface and coordinate with many different groups, to include:

• Project Engineers when establishing system layouts
• Production Engineers when developing schedules
• Development Engineers when discussing the application of new design concepts

Proficiently utilize several different software programs, to include:

• AutoCAD LT /Inventor/Solidworks to create conceptual layout drawings
• Salesforce to generate pricing and proposals
• SAP to enter order information and research historical data
• Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint for general daily activities

Desired Educational / Skill Background:

• 4-year Bachelor degree in engineering or engineering-related field, or
• Basic level of skill in AutoCAD, with the experience and ability to produce 2-dimensional drawings
