We have a part-time opening for a Bartender.

Must be able to work various shifts per week and be available weekends.

  • Must have 1 or more years experience.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Requirements

The Bartender plays a huge role in providing friendly, attentive, and timely service to create an exceptional experience for all of our guests. A Bartender’s primary objective is to show our guests such a marvelous time that they will want to return.  



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:



 




  • Know the names of all beers on tap and their locations.

  • Know all current specials, and upcoming events.

  • Assumes 100% responsibility for quality guests’ experience.

  • Maintains a guest focus while performing duties.

  • Greets each guest as soon as they enter the bar and engages in conversation to personalize service.

  • Upsale -Suggest an import, craft, flight, or drink special.

  • Recommend an appetizer or menu item. (Suggest your favorite food, beer drink)

  • Inform guests of upcoming events and invite them to attend.

  • Take orders from guests and make beverage orders from servers after they enter them into the POS system.

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with CHAR’s standard drink recipes.

  • Learns the names and personally recognize our regulars.

  • Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the POS system. 

  • Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable).

  • Wash and sterilize glassware and stack.

  • Prepare garnishes wearing rubber gloves for drinks and replenish snacks for bar patrons.

  • Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.

  • Make specific recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages.

  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.

  • Recognize the signs of when a customer has had too much to drink and recommend water, food, or a cab.

  • Notify Supervisor immediately if a customer gets rude, belligerent, or an incident occurs.

  • Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.

  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to a Supervisor.

  • Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.

  • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.

  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.

  • Notify Supervisor-on-duty any time a guest is not IOO% satisfied with their experience.

  • Close out drawer at the end of the shift and reconcile and over/under monies.

  • Comply with all directives from supervisor and all Standard Operating Procedures.



 



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



 




  • Must be able to stand and work for long periods of time in a fast paced environment.

  • Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver boxes weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.



 



REQUIREMENTS: 



 




  • Be 21 years of age.

  • Must have or be able to receive AZ Liquor Board Certification and Food Handler’s Card within 30 days after start of employment.

  • Must possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members.

  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.

  • Must be able to work unsupervised.

  • Must have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.

  • Be willing to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed.

  • Be able to work in a fast paced bar/restaurant environment.

  • Be able to handle situations involving belligerent, rude, customers and those who have had too much to drink and immediately notify a Supervisor.
