The job description and criteria based job performance evaluation emphasizes the criteria expected in the performance of the pharmacy technician level III. Under general supervision, the Pharmacy Technician Level III performs the most difficult and complex work among the pharmacy technicians in practice. The pharmacy technician level III can perform all the functions of the pharmacy technician as well as clerical duties, narcotic record administrations, purchasing and inventory control, and assist pharmacists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures. The pharmacy technician level III works closely with the pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, nursing staff, and the director of pharmacy. Education:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED) is required.
Previous hospital pharmacy technician experience required. Must be IV certified as per USP and State Board of Pharmacy regulations. Accounting experience preferred, but not required
Registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician; must maintain certification requirements as per State Board of Pharmacy.
