Maintenance Supervisor
A client of Aerotek is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor with an Engineering Background. The purpose of this position is to manage and control the maintenance function in the plant and be responsible for all associated technical issues.
Major job duties:
- Supervise the Maintenance function and ensure that maintenance assignments are carried out in an efficient and safe manner. Troubleshoot plant and equipment. Supervise maintenance staff directly.
- Set up, maintain and be responsible for PM systems, inspection routines, inventory control, job scheduling, staff training, identification of plant improvement plans including efficiency, yield.
- Control maintenance expenditure in a cost-effective way according to the site budget for site repairs, resources, direct labor, overtime and contractors.
- Champion World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and Safety objectives. Strive for zero incidents and ensure a people centered safety culture exits within the department.
Job requirements and qualifications:
- BS in relevant engineering field, mechanical or chemical engineering degree
- 3-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3-5 years of practical experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively to all levels
- Strong work ethic and team work essential
- *Ability to motivate and drive improvement in a union environment
