Aerotek is seeking an experienced Project Manager within the HVAC industry for a well known and reputable building automation client, that has specific experience in large HVAC projects.

Summary of Duties:

  • Manages all aspects of construction projects, from beginning to end, with direct responsibility for project execution while leading a team, or teams, to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame and with available resources.
  • Responsible for the administration, implementation and management of construction projects.
  • Accountable for assigned projects scope of work, schedule and budget.
  • Responsible for timely completion of assigned projects and customer satisfaction.
  • Plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives, involving complex contracting applications.
  • Meets with contractors and owners to discuss scope of project; budgets; performance; and close-out.
  • Supports the sales function by assisting with quote preparation and proposal.
  • Examines and reviews contracts and estimates by performing risk analysis and developing risk plans.
  • Ensures compliance with internal contracting processes.
  • Establishes an operations budget for assigned projects by revising the original estimate based on validated project scope.
  • Responsible for maintaining the project budget to forecasted values.
  • Creates and makes revisions to project schedules including: generating tasks, estimates, dependencies; milestones, CPM Analysis; and Histogram Analysis.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred
  • Minimum of two years of experience or six years of construction industry experience; or two year degree from technical college in related field with four years of experience in the construction industry or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience and knowledge in using Project Management Tools (CPM, PERT, Gantt Charts) is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Primavera Expedition and P3/Suretrak required.
  • Familiarity with financially guaranteed contracts, the operation of energy management systems, HVAC systems, temperature controls, and process control systems is preferred.
  • Must possess the communication skills and level of literacy, scientific knowledge and mathematical skills
  • Must have a general working knowledge of basic engineering, electricity, mechanical HVAC systems and the building construction industry.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, contract documents, control drawings, service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals is required.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, customers, and service personnel is required.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables is required.
