  • We have an opening for a part-time CASHIER position.
  • Location: Kaiser Permanente Hospital - Baby Store; 700 Lawrence Expy, Santa Clara, CA 95051. Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday; 1:00 pm - 4:15 pm and  Saturday & Sunday; 9:45am - 1:15 pm (average 18+/- hours per week).
  • Requirement: Customer service, cash handling, merchandising and punctuality are highly desirable.

Summary: Performs cashiering duties, including making cash transactions, verifying cash drawer, giving change, counting cash receipts and completing cash reports.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Performs sales transactions in a timely fashion.
  • Enters all sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded.
  • Makes change, accepts declining balance cards and other acceptable forms of payment; issues receipts to customers.
  • Follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
  • Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts ensuring that cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards.
  • Stocks shelves, counters and tables with merchandise.
  • Sets up advertising displays and arranges merchandise to promote sales.
  • Stamps, marks or tags prices on merchandise. 
  • Wraps and bags merchandise.
  • Totals merchandise price and tax to determine final bill amount.
  • Answers customers' questions about location, price and use of merchandise.
  • Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with all sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
