We seek a Full time experienced Assistant Front End Manager to join our Operations Team. The Co-op is a community-owned natural foods grocery store serving the region for 40 years. We are moving to a brand new, beautiful store this summer, just two blocks away.

Job Responsibilities 

-- Work with the Front End Manager as needed to assist departmental employees in contributing to the overall departmental goals and vision for the store.

-- Assist with the supervision of front end cashiers and customer service staff.

--Train all new cashiers in proper register operations and cash-handling procedures.

-- Coordinate and authorize breaks for cashiers in accordance with Co-op policy and the needs of the Front End.

--Treat staff fairly and consistently in a style appropriate to a cooperative work environment. 

--Verify and maintain cashier bank and properly account for all cash on hand.

--Handle daily bank deposits and incoming change orders as needed.

--Provide authorization for returns, refunds and check approvals and perform check cashing for cashiers as needed. 



Qualifications

-- Must have at least 2 years retail grocery experience and cashiering experience; knowledge of organic and natural foods, preferred.

-- Must have at least 2 years previous supervision or management experience overseeing cashiers.

--Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

-- Must be able to provide excellent customer service and enjoy working with the public.

--Must be able to lift/move up to 60 pounds.



Schedule

--30 - 40 hours per week with benefits

--Schedule will include weekends, early mornings, daytime and evenings
