Summary: This individual will be responsible for qualifying and testing the material, as well as conducting failure analysis to assist all external and internal customers. Some of the main responsibilities are: conducting failure analysis, combustion and coating flow testing, using CMM (Brown & Sharpe, and PCDMIS software), ALT (accelerated life testing), as well as measurements and metallurgical testing. This individual will be facilitating PPAP measurements, as well as the qualification of new assemblies and parts. This candidate will be defining more efficient lab processes with the help of others.

Job Responsibilities:

  • This candidate will be performing ALT procedures on current production units, and new production units
  • They will be assist R&D and engineering for the lab as necessary
  • This individual will be performing measurement studies on certain parts as required, and they will be using all equipment which includes Brown & Sharpe CMM
  • They will be performing failure analysis, as well as coordinating efforts with outside labs on an as-needed basis
  • They will be helping with the expansion of technical abilities - this is in terms of gas strain technology, SPC, failure analysis, and associated test methodologies
  • It is imperative that this individual possesses a strong commitment to excellence, as well as the technical skills that are required to improve the reliability of external resources, as well as internal resources.

Qualifications:

  • It is required that this candidate has experience operating and programming (online and offline) of PC-DMIS and Brown & Sharpe language
  • This individual must have at least two years of experience working in a related manufacturing environment, or at least two years of formal technical training
  • This individual must be familiar with optical comparators, accelerated lifecycle testing, and Brown & Sharpe CMM
  • This candidate must be able to accurately measure using standard lab equipment (such as: optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.)
  • An ability to create / understand CPK studies and SPC studies
  • Must have some sort of experience with environmental testing
  • This candidate must be comfortable using Standard Reference Materials
  • PLUSSES:

o Experience with metallurgical / materials science

o Experience with gas train, gas valve, of combustion testing is not required but is a PLUS
