Job Summary The University of Michigan Shared Services Center (U-M SSC) is a customer service organization focused on providing user-friendly and cost effective administrative services to the university community. The SSC offers key financial and human resource transaction services to customers through consistent processes and enabling technology.

Reporting to the Employment Process Team Lead, the Employment Clerk serves as a critical member of the Employment Processing Team. The Employment Clerk is responsible for staffing the I-9 Center at the Student Activities Building and processing all I-9 paperwork for all new hires.

Responsibilities* Knowledge of and adhere to University of Michigan policies and procedures Process I-9 paperwork for new employees Process I-9 recertification Validate employment start dates Scan I-9 paperwork into ImageNow Responsible for filing and record retention Keep supplies stocked for the I-9 Center Utilize systems such as Service Link , eRecruit and Mpathways Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications* Education:

High School diploma Experience:

1-2 years experience in professional office setting Some knowledge of human resource processes Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively delivering high quality work output Demonstrated history of building relationships in the workplace Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must be adaptable to changing schedules Organizational Core Competencies and Skills:
