Seeking; Food Operations Manager (III) for East Carolina Heart Institute (ECHI) in Greenville, NC . The East Carolina Heart Institute is the first in North Carolina devoted exclusively to education, research, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The institute is associated with Vidant Medical Center and East Carolina University .
This 909 bed Medical Teaching Hospital is located in the 10th largest city in NC and the home of East Carolina University! Located halfway between the capital city of Raleigh and the crystal coast of the Atlantic Ocean, Greenville is the cultural, educational, medical, and economic capital of Eastern NC.
Position repo rts to the General Manager and is the Senior Manager in a stand-alone building. Responsibilities include: retail and patient food service operations, managing both ECHI and Sodexo Hourly Team Members, a Sous Chef who will assist with management and development of Culinary Team and kitchen staff, assists with the implementation of the At Your Request Room Service Dining program which operates out of both the ECHI and main kitchens, Patient Satisfaction, Sodexo National Menu with new standards, retail; a $25,000 per week operation that includes a "We Proudly Brew" and Pandini's, operational revenue growth goal is set for 35% for FY2016, interaction with Clinical Managers and their staff during patient rounding, problem solving and interdisciplinary department meetings, manage operation to contract price guarantees, P&L budget and food cost goals, completes inventory and on-line ordering, trains and develops staff on monthly food and physical safety topics and weekly Huddles.
Ideal Candidate Skills / Certification :
College Degree / Trade School Certificate, Servsafe Certificate
High volume Food Retail and cash handling experience
HR: Hire, train, develop, schedule, performance review for 50 employees
P&L experience managing 6 million in financial volume
Working knowledge of HACCP and safety programs
Cashier management procedures and ability to manage POS software
Working knowledge; culinary operations, inventory, ordering, and reporting
Computer skills to work in financial, food, and labor management systems
Background in customer service and client relations for program enhancements
Experience with interdisciplinary Health Care department meetings
Infectious energy and enthusiasm , attention to detail, customer service expert
Typical shift runs 8am-6pm with some weekends/holidays

Assumes General Manager's (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence in complex multi-functional accounts. Has direct client contact on day-to-day issues. Develops and Implements plans under the direction of a GM 5 or higher. Manages through managers. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Responsible for financial/HR functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 3 years
Basic Functional Experience - 4 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
