About this job
As part of our Life Time Kids Team, you'll help provide best-in-class, fitness-minded programming for our children. You'll help organize and implement safe, fun and entertaining activities and games in our Child Center and during swim time, and even host birthday parties and other special programs and events.
Duties & Responsibilities
Greets and welcomes parents and children in a warm and friendly manner
Engages children in fun and challenging activities, including organized arts & crafts, singing, sports activities, games and field trips
Ensures Counselors are engaged and interacting with campers at all times
Resolves child conflicts in a swift and professional manner
Provides a safe, clean and organized camp area
Promotes and sells Summer Camp programs
Ensures team members continually increase their knowledge of Life Time's products, services, policies and procedures
Provides daily, weekly, and monthly summer camp participation totals to the Department Head
Maintains summer camp inventory and orders supplies with the permission of the Department Head
Creates weekly staff schedules and ensures the Counselor to camper ratio meets state/federal guidelines
Organizes field trip schedule and confirms bus arrival times each week
Coaches and counsels Camp Counselors with the guidance of the Department Head
Recruits, interviews, and trains staff prior to and during the summer season
Immediately reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors or abuse relating to youth
During swim time, other duties & responsibilities:
Conducts swim tests
Creates swimmer/non-swimmer counselors lists
Assigns campers to counselors
Oversees counselors and kids while they are swimming
Supervises campers who choose not to swim
Education & Experience
High School Diploma
One-year summer camp counselor experience
Previous summer camp supervisor experience preferred
Licenses / Certifications / Registrations
Lifeguard Certified
Attend and pass Life Time Summer Camp Counselor Certification
First Aid certification required within the first 60 days of hire
Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED certification required within the first 60 days of hire
