About this job

Providence is calling a Registered Nurse - Emergency Services (0.9 FTE, Nights) to Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, OR.

In this position, you will:

Provide and supervise professional, independent nursing care for Providence patients that is as evidence-based as possible.

Facilitate care that is based in the nursing process and is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act.

Apply knowledge of assessing, planning, ordering, giving, delegating, teaching and supervising professional nursing care delivery that promotes patients' optimal health and

independence.

Require a broad range of general nursing knowledge and expertise. In addition, development and validation of knowledge and skills essential to the assigned department, patient

population and/or practice area are crucial.

Care for the patients from admission through discharge as applicable.

Participate in and lead clinical teams and may supervise, assign or delegate to licensed practical nurses (LPNs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and other healthcare workers.

Required qualifications for this position include:

Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) at time of hire

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification within 6 months of hire

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire

Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) -or- equivalent by no later than 2018

1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) -or- Critical Care RN experience

Relevant training and certifications applicable to the position, as specified by the Nurse Manager

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

Bachelor's degree in nursing; required for newly hired Registered Nurses as of 2018

Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)

1 year of acute care RN experience

New to Specialty:

Required:

1 year of acute care RN experience -or- completion of senior practicum in Emergency Department (ED)

ACLS within 6 months of hire

PALS within 6 months of hire

TNCC or equivalent by no later than 2018

Preferred:

ENPC

NRP

CEN
