Overview:
Overview
Responsible for assembling and delivering meals and nourishments to patients. Has working knowledge of foods, basic nutrition, and special diets. Interacts with nursing staff to confirm diet orders prior to delivery of food to patients. Complies with food safety and sanitation regulations. Other related duties includes delivering floor stock to patient galleys and scrubbing pots and pans. There are multiple food service worker positions/assignments which are performed. Works as needed in other areas of the kitchen as needed, (Salads, Cooks helper, Cafe, Trayline, Cook, etc.). Will perform all work with accord to the Mission, Vision, and Values of Mercy. .

Prepares and sanitizes all food delivery carts for daily meal service.
Adheres to department specific dress code for room servers.
Wash and store dishware and catering equipment.
Demonstrates Effective Verbal Communication
PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Education: GED or High School Diploma preferred but not required.
Other: There are hazardous conditions such as ovens, steamers, tilt skillets, tilt grills, steam kettles, grills, charbroilers, slicers (meat and vegetables) knives, mixers and food processors. Also, be careful of falling or slipping on wet floors and icy freezer floors. Must have good communication skills.
Preferred Education: High School Graduate or GED.
Preferred Experience: Food Service experience preferred.
