Overview
Responsible for setting up and delivering food trays to the nursing floors and may serve modified diets. Will set up food trays according to the diet lists. May assist in main kitchen during busy periods, performing such duties as assisting at steam tables, serving food, running cash register or cleaning tables after meals. Cleans dishes, glassware, and silverware by hand and machine.

Serves only foods specified by diet lists.
Meets meal schedules.
Serves food at the proper temperature.
Loads food carts and delivers to floor.
Checks EMR for patient diet and relevant information.
Prepares, in part or in whole, general meals and modified diets.
Does general cleaning work and maintains safe and clean kitchen.
May assist cooks and assistant cooks as needed.
Operates dishwasher.
Other duties as assigned.
Must be familiar with and participate in Fire and Safety Plans.
Completes inservice education requirements.
Adheres to dress code.
Wears identification while on duty.

Qualifications
Education: A high school education.
Licensure: None.
Experience: Experience in waiting tables, food preparation, and related work.
Certifications: None.
Other: Skills, knowledge and abilities: Must know how to set up trays presenting an appetizing appearance, and have some knowledge of food handling and preparation, and how to operate the dishwasher machine. Must be familiar with the physical arrangement of the hospital. Should have the ability to follow oral and written directions
Working conditions, mental and physical requirements: Must be able to stand or be on feet most of the time. Wears hairnet or surgical cap at all times. Wears latex gloves often. Must be able to withstand heat from stove, oven, and dish machine.
