About this job

1. Receives, stores and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials and equipment in industrial establishment.
2. Issues spare and replacement parts, equipment and expendable items used in repair or maintenance shop.
3. Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools & equipment, using JD Edwards
4. Receives, unpacks and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
5. Inspects measure tools and equipment for defects and wear, inform to supervisors.
6. Repairs, services and lubricates tools and equipment, using hand tools, spray gun or pressurized spray can.
7. May deliver tools and equipment to workers manually or by hand truck.
8. Mark and identify tools and equipment, using identification tag, stamp or electric marking tool.
9. Schedules or picks up incoming stock and delivers parts to areas as needed.
10. Performs clerical duties as required by shift supervisor as needed.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Demands, include but are not limited to the following:

1. Must have working knowledge of personal computer spreadsheet and work processing software programs.
2. Must understand the purchasing (requisition, approval, purchase order, account coding, receiving, notification, accounts payable) cycle.
3. Must be familiar with typical food processing equipment parts and supplies
4. Must be familiar with typical machinery parts and maintenance nomenclature
5. Must become familiar with equipment specifically used in the fresh cut produce industry.
6. Must understand and be able to work with maintenance parts manuals.
7. Must understand measurement of parts and materials in S.A.E. And metric standards.
8. Must have ability to deal with outside vendors and others necessary to carry out the purchasing function.
9. Must have good written and verbal communication skills
10. Must have working knowledge of chemicals used in facility.
11. Comply with all safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
12. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices to comply with food safety and quality programs.
13. Needs to have a good attitude, be a self-starter, follow House Rules and require little supervision.
14. Must be cross trained in the various functions of the Quality Assurance department and must be knowledgeable on the QA standard operating procedures.
15. Must have knowledge of food safety programs (HACCP, GMPs, Sanitation, Pest Control, Safe Quality Food (SQF), and Organic Guidelines.

Record Keeping:
Must keep accurate and accessible purchase order file (JDE)
Must keep accurate tracking mechanism of purchases from requisition to payment so the information is accessible to all interested personnel.
Must keep track of parts from arrival to end-use and keep customers informed of any changes.
Provides monthly or as needed inventory of tool crib stock
Maintains MSDS log
Manages receiving of items delivered to Maintenance but ordered by others.

Preventative Maintenance:
Meets the parts and supplies needs of maintenance supervisors for successfully completing all PM requirements. This means having parts available to complete repair work orders and have the tool crib properly stocked.

Cost Containment:
Continuously monitors vendors, suppliers and contractors for competitive pricing.
Monitors spending by department and routinely reports results to Department Manager.
