Yalla Mediterranean - Team Member - Cook

 

At Yalla Mediterranean we serve responsibly raised meats and wild-caught fish grilled-to-order in less than three minutes, paired with house-made sauces and salads inspired by the flavors and cultures we love. As a Cook you will be responsible for providing exceptional food service and food quality that meets company policies and procedures while ensuring safe food handling procedures. Cooks will support other team members and management to ensure guests have an exceptional dining experience which impacts the overall success of the restaurant.  

 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Provides the highest level of service in accordance with our company’s standards.
  • Sets-up, maintains, and closes kitchen areas.
  • Maintains full knowledge of menus, recipes, and other pertinent information.
  • Follows all company food safety, food handling, and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of guests and employees.
  • Prepares product for grilling.
  • Grills requested food items in accordance to guests’ specifications and preset recipes.
  • Prepares and cooks all menu items to Yalla’s expectations.
  • Follow all prep guidelines in preparing and assembling product prior to cooking.
  • Labels all prepared food to ensure all food safety and quality standards are maintained.
  • Ensures all food served to guests are visually appealing and meet standards.
  • Maintains professional relationships with all coworkers.
  • Responsible and accountable for performing specific tasks and duties, as assigned, within the restaurant.
  • Works assigned position(s) accurately and productively; cleans and stocks the assigned area(s); performs other cleaning duties as assigned.

 

Physical Abilities:

Must be able to:

  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Bend and stoop.
  • Work around heat.
  • Work around others in close quarters.
  • Move throughout the restaurant to work specific stations or perform assigned tasks.
  • Able to lift 50-75 lbs. comfortably.
  • Work with various cleaning products.

 

Requirements

Enrollment in high school; high school diploma or equivalent is preferable.

Good verbal and written communication skills; is capable of communicating effectively with co-workers.

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

Must have reliable transportation to work.

Must be able and willing to work flexible hours, possibly including opening and closing shifts.
