The Brook Hospital is currently seeking a Nursing Supervisor for Weekends to join our team

The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the administrative and clinical supervision of nursing staff. The Nursing Supervisor has administrative responsibility for the clinical and non clinical staff assigned to evenings and weekends. This position reports directly to Chief Nursing Officer and works in conjunction with Administration to ensure that the best clinicial judement is ultilized when problems/issues arise.

The following are job requirements for the position Nursing Supervisor Weekends:

The hours of the position are every other weekend Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 10pm and two 8 hours shifts during week.

Assumes primary responsibility for the maintenance of a safe, secure and orderly hospital envioronment on evenings and weekends.Flexibility is required to full-fill the responsibilites of the position

Supervisers, coordinates and evaluates activities of nursing personnel to provide quality nursing care

Responds to assist on all units especially in times of increased patient activity or short staffing situations

Acts a role model for staff, maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service at all times

Reports special physical, emotional, or social needs of the patient to the appropriate person: Staff Nurse, Director of Adult or Youth Services, Physician, CNO, etc.

Not responsible for performance reviews of staff, will report and work with Directors of Youth and Adult Services to report behaviors. Will assist with disciplinary/corrective action as needed and report to Directors of Youth and Adult Services. Asssesses the learning needs of staff recommends/and or provides appropriate staff development for weekend/evening staff

Assists with orientation of new staff and authorizes replacement staff for call in's and staffing needs. Demonstrates understanding of FTE calculations as they coorespond to patient census and acuity.
