Assistant Grocery Manager - Full-time / Part-time

ASSISTANT GROCERY MANAGERS ensure effective and profitable operations of the grocery department through sales maximization and employee growth. Assistant Grocery Managers ensure customers receive polite, friendly service; work with the Grocery Manager in effective scheduling of the department; ensure department is compliant with company standards; train and develop grocery department employees; and implement and maintain an in-store culture that ensures growth. The Assistant Grocery Manager helps prepare the grocery department for grocery inventory; maintains backroom, coolers, and freezers to standard; and takes complete ownership of the grocery department which includes dairy, frozen, general merchandise, and HBC. In addition, the Assistant Grocery Manager works closely with the DSD Receiver, Pricing Coordinator and vendors and performs all other duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be at least 18 years old • Ability to lift 40lbs. consistently and 60lbs. occasionally • Ability to read and understand information and direction • 1-3 years of supermarket knowledge • Ability to supervise people, including training and development • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements on the job • Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills • Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push/pull stock carts and operate a pallet jack for extended periods of time
