Key Responsibilities: ·
- Prepare, review, and issue financial statements in accordance with US GAAP / latest SAAS revenue recognition principles·
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations, maintain fixed asset ledger, prepare general ledger account reconciliations·
- Design, implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures· Meet monthly and quarterly compliance reporting deadlines·
- Management of key functions including:
- A/P, A/R, billing, revenue recognition/deferred revenue accounting, tax etc.· Instituting controls and expense policies that will scale with the company's growth without creating inefficiencies·
- Lead future audits and tax reporting.
- Prepare schedules and work with auditors for the timely delivery of audits· Manage corporate documents that facilitate audits and due diligence· Oversee corporate governance and tax compliance·
- Assist with specials projects assigned by the CEO and VP Finance
Qualifications, Experience and Traits: ·
- Strong technical accounting background with 6+ years experience in SAAS or subscription revenue based revenue models·
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)· Knowledge of double-entry accounting through general ledger·
- Knowledge of account analysis and financial statement preparation and SAAS revenue recognition principles·
- Experience in designing and implementing accounting processes and controls· Public accounting experience
- (Big 4 experience preferred but not required);
- CPA required· BA or BS in Accounting or equivalent·
- Demonstrated experience managing the 'full-cycle' of the accounting process·
- Strong computer and modeling skills; demonstrated ability to manage disparate data sets and IT systems·
- Management of financial accounting software (QuickBooks)or ERPs, Microsoft Suite (Excel e.g. lookups, pivot tables, etc.)·
- Understanding of San Francisco Business regulations and compliance· Experience in evaluating financial reporting, billing or IT systems and making actionable recommendations·
- Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills· Attention to detail, solid character and critical thinking
