Looking to Teach the Chefs of Tomorrow - Hiring Cooks $12 - $15/hr

Location: Boston

Dream of running your own kitchen someday? Come learn with Dig Inn and grow as a culinary leader!

At Dig Inn you’ll chop, grill, and sauté your way into the sustainable, vegetable-forward future of food. Our cooks are aspiring learners who are looking to grow their careers while staying committed to culinary excellence.  We offer flexible scheduling around school and the opportunity to develop in our community.

A Day ‘Inn’ The Life

  • Vegetables are the star of the show at Dig Inn–you’ll spend a lot of your time caring for them (washing, prepping, and delivering to the line)

  • You’ll utilize and learn various culinary techniques for ‘mise en place’ such as portioning, marinating, seasoning, mixing, along with roasting - to name a few. Additionally, you’ll use your master knife skills for chopping, dicing, and peeling to make our vegetables ready for their moment in the spotlight

  • Follow recipes (and your taste buds). Here recipes are a guide, not a rule. Taste to ensure deliciousness

  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the shift, following Dig Inn and health department standards

  • Communicate with your team and Brigade Leaders throughout the shift on shortages, needs, deliverables (for more on our Brigade system, see below)

  • Handle everything from kitchen safety to equipment

  • Speak to current menu offerings, seasonality, and promotions with ease

  • Make each and every guest’s day great with consistently delicious food and friendly conversation

  • Go home feeling fulfilled (and full), ready to get back up the next day and do it all over again

How we operate:

Not only do we care about what we are cooking, but we care even more so about who is cooking our food. Our restaurants are run using the classical Kitchen Brigade, an organizational hierarchy system embraced by restaurants worldwide. We use this system to separate our kitchens into distinct teams so that we can teach culinary and leadership skills to all our team members.

About Dig Inn: We’re passionate about changing the way people eat, one Marketplate at a time. While we’re known for our Brussels sprouts, our menu rotates with the seasons and our team is always learning and growing. Dig Inn currently operates 11 restaurants in NYC serving over 40,000 meals per week. We believe in the power of community, the principles of change, and the power of a shared table—for the everyday and the extraordinary—a place where friendships are made and ideas are born.
