POSITION PURPOSE -
The Sr. Developer will have responsibility and accountability of delivering quality code for the Asset Protection IT team, participating in design, construction and other areas of the development life cycle. The Sr. Developer has expert knowledge in one or more programming languages or databases. This person must have an excellent understanding of the IT project life cycle, trends in the IT landscape and be able to influence IT leadership on streamlining those processes. The Sr. Developer has the ability to guide and direct project teams in design, development and testing of complex applications/ programs. This person must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Sr. Developer must work closely with architects to ensure proper system design, and ensure highest quality implementations from design through QA to production. The Sr. Developer will assist other developers in the day-to-day activities related to project work. The successful candidate for this position understands the development process and how to fit into the overall business solution being built.
This group supports the applications used by Home Depot employees in our stores and at the Returns Logistics Centers.
We are looking for a strong developer to join our team to help us with our continued development of our Returns Product.
As part of this role, this senior developer will be responsible for:
- Working collaboratively with product managers, other dev teams, and QA to design and implement business critical solutions.
- Driving our Asset Protection Product development to ensure quality and meet business objectives.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
Define, plan and implement solutions on assigned moderately complex projects.
Take business requirements and develop the total technical design on moderately complex projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production.
Conduct appropriate test reviews for assigned projects and present to architecture review boards as necessary.
Promote and follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.
Provide technical direction to associate developers, developers and contractors.
NATURE AND SCOPE -
Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology
Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Essential Skills:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.
EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
