The Educational Program Specialist is responsible for determining customer needs and delivering appropriate education and/or credentialing programs to meet those needs by developing and managing Professional Development products and services by establishing relationships with customers, developing and customizing learning products, and managing existing learning products. This position develops and implements product goals, manages budget targets, provides quality products and services for customers, and achieves revenue goals for the organization.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acquire content and develop new products (80%)
Conduct continuous environmental scanning to determine which industry technologies require a Professional Development solution
Identify products, markets, or SMEs that represent business opportunities
Perform competitive analysis
Evaluate course proposals and determine relevance, need, quality, and other factors to ascertain viability of product (go/no go decision)
Determine delivery format and resources needed
Negotiate set terms to develop product including content licensing/ copyright permission
Effectively manage SME relationships including providing guidelines and support to subject matter experts, instructors, technical reviewers, and suppliers
Receive draft content (course description, market data)
Refine content with SME/instructor(s)
Conduct expert review process with qualified technical reviewers
Create final learning experience/product
Create product plan including, pricing, and marketing direction
Release product to CMS, Marketing, Customer Service (for event based products scheduled dates are communicated)
Manage database and learning technologies as needed including CMS, LMS, and appropriate learning tools
New product development may include professional credentialing programs
Conduct market research to determine demand or feasibility for professional credentialing
Manage process of developing competencies and credentialing tests
Manage launch and ongoing maintenance of credentialing programs with revenue and profit growth objectives established in concert with Business Unit Manager.
Develop and offer appropriate training courses to support credentialing following process above to acquire new content and develop new products
Work with Marketing and Sales to promote and sell credentialing programs
Manage portfolio of assigned learning products, potentially including credentialing programs (15%)
Conduct performance analysis
Evaluate success of product
Determine when product has completed life cycle (morph or cancel)
Provide feedback and coaching to SME instructors
Analyze and refine marketing plans in collaboration with Marketing
Assist SMEs/instructors in keeping products updated
Manage learning experience for CQI
Manage database and learning technologies as needed including CMS, LMS, and appropriate learning tools
Assist with Corporate Learning sales activity or Classroom operations as needed (5%)

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Education, Business, technical or related field, required. Masters preferred. Experience in or knowledge of the Aerospace industry or transportation industry in general is strongly preferred. Five years experience in program development, educational design, training products, multi-media, distance education, or related business, required Experience in adult education or meetings management field Experience with professional credentialing programs Experience in association/non-profit environment Sales, account management, and negotiation skills Ability to work effectively with external customers and service providers, required Highly developed planning and organizational skills Excellent written/oral communication skills Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Working knowledge of technical trends and technology in the mobility industry Training/experience/skills in negotiation Solid understanding of educational development and instructional design principles Working knowledge of current learning technologies Ability to self-train on new products and procedures Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, required
