Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver license.
- Motor Vehicle Record with no more than 3 moving violations in the past five years.
- Maximum 1 Driving/Operating While Intoxicated (DWI/OWI) (Outside 2 Years)
- Maximum 1 Driving/Operating While under the Influence (DUI/OUI) (Outside 2 Years)
- Minimum 5 years driving experience
- Must pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle records check, and post-job offer drug test
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public and associates
- Read, write and speak English fluently
- Able to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Very good knowledge of Portland and vicinity preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ÿ  Direct the Valet staff in courteous, safe and efficient guest service.
Ÿ  Open vehicle and hotel doors and greet arriving and departing guests.Â
Ÿ  Run to offsite garage to retrieve vehicles, inspect and park vehicles.
Ÿ  Obey traffic laws and ensure adherence to safe work practices.
Ÿ  Use defined procedures and communication tools to track and store guest belongings and vehicles.
Ÿ  Monitor use of overflow parking garage/maximize use of hotel garage.
Ÿ  Schedule staff and manage staffing level during shift to ensure proper guest service and cost control balance.
Ÿ  Provide training, coaching, and accountability for conduct and performance of staff.
Ÿ  Provide accurate and situation specific information on directions, hours of operation, cost and service disruption for the Â
     hotel amenities and regional locations, attractions and events. Supervise staff on the same and provide updated
     information.
Ÿ  Fulfill guest requests for transportation (taxi, towncar, rental vehicle), as well as rendering assistance for concierge
   service, and luggage porterage.
Ÿ  Direct staff on maintenance of cleanliness of the bellstand, bellcarts, sidewalk, lobby and luggage closet.
Ÿ  Maintain knowledge of all Emergency Procedures, including guest related responsibilities and evacuation procedures. Ÿ Ÿ  Assist Emergency response team/Manager on Duty in case of an emergency.
Ÿ  Be aware of VIP and repeat guests and greet them by name.
PHYSICAL STRENGTHS:
Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/:Â Â Lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing or pulling cart up to 200 lbs.
Bending/Kneeling:  Frequently during shift. To lift luggage or load luggage into vehicle or onto cart.
Mobility: Walking up to 1/10 mile frequently during shift.
Continuous Standing: To wait for arriving guests or when delivering vehicle. Frequently during shift.
Running: Running during heavy service periods and jogging throughout the shift as dictated by business needs.
